I have 5552 hours on Garry's Mod, and have spent most of said hours on roleplay servers such as Hl2rp, Fallout RP, and various Nutscript Servers.[/b] [b]How should a Civil Protection unit act?:[/b] As a fresh recruit, the unit would most likely be acting to impress it's superiors. They would be quick to fix any mistakes they make, and learn quickly. They would act professional in public, and more so in front of higher ranking units. Of course, this doesn't mean that they have to have a robotic, almost non-existent personality. A unit is still a human underneath their uniform (At least, the lower ranks) and are still susceptible to their emotions. In their new environment, they are likely to try to find friends to support them, and get to know their fellow units. Behavior varies from unit to unit, of course, this is just a general idea. [b]What does a Civil Protection unit do?: [/b]A unit is the basic force of the Universal Union. It's job is to enforce the rules set by the union, in order to keep the citizen's of earth docile and cooperative. They patrol the streets, making sure the Union's vision for Earth is followed to the letter. They are also responsible for protecting the city from threats such as Necrotics, Exogens, and Escaped Biotics, should the need arise. Of course, depending on the severity of the situation, it's possible the Overwatch Transhuman Arm could be deployed in their stead. It is also their job to deal with any Humans that would oppose the Union. [b]Character Backstory (At least three paragraphs, be detailed!):[/b] Thomas was born on a farm, on the outskirts of Munich, Germany. He lived as a farmer, working the field with his father and older brother. His father taught him how to use a rifle when he was twelve, and took him out on hunting trips. Eventually, his parents decided that they wanted more for him, and sent him to school. He excelled in his academics, being accepted to one of the highest medical schools in Germany. He decided he wanted to become a Trauma Surgeon, working in the emergency room. He was certified in the state, and worked in a hospital in Berlin. He worked here for a few years, but was laid off sometime before the portal storms. He worked menial labor jobs for a few years, living paycheck to paycheck, barely making enough to survive. When the Portal storms began, following the resonance cascade, He joined the Red Cross, traveling to areas affected by the waves of energy. His experience and training in the medical field made him a valuable asset, saving the lives of those injured. When the Universal Union came, he found himself once again Unemployed, with no direction or purpose. After various City transfers, he eventually found himself in City Eight. He attempted to join the Civil Workers Union, but was denied, as he was "Not a people person." This didn't discourage him, however, and he set his sights higher, He wanted to join the Metropolice Force. He reported crimes, asked for any available work from the units, and turned in any contraband he found until he was able to apply. He may not be a particularly special, or talented individual, but he's willing to give it all he's got, and serve the union to the best of his abilities. If you choose this please say so below):[/b] Helix would whistle, walking down the sidewalk with his patrol partner, idly tapping his stunstick against his thigh. Union would stop, turning his head down the alley, Silent. Helix would continue walking into him, bumping into the back of the Union. He would sound confused. "What is it?" Union would remain silent, finally speaking. "I saw something suspicious down the alley." Helix would sound skeptical, replying to the Union."Something.. Suspicious.. Is that it?" Union would sigh, speaking softly. "You're just going to have to trust me on this, weapons ready." Helix would pause for a second, saying "Right..." He would then unholster his pistol. He'd raise it up to chest level, loading a magazine into the USP-Match. He would then pull back the slide, loading a bullet into the chamber, the gun making a satifying click.He'd flick the safety off with his thumb, holding the weapon with two hands. He'd lower it, nodding to the Union, allowing him to take point. Union would proceed down the alley, turning the corner, weapons ready. As he turns the corner, a bullet would whizz by, impacting the concrete wall behind him. Union would immediately fire apon the Anti-Citizen infront of him. The Helix would be close by, the two firing at the Anti-Citizen together. He would be riddled with bullets, nothing but a bloody mess on the ground. The Union would grab his radio from his belt, reporting the situation in, as well as asking for a cleanup crew. What do you do?[/u] I would keep my distance, as the citizen is likely intoxicated. I would unclip my stunstick, and be ready to incapacitate the citizen should the need arise. I'd ask for any available units in the area for backup. I'd order the citizen onto the wall, and depending if the citizen complies, tie him. If he would not cooperate with me, I would wait for backup to arrive, and detain the citizen. [u]Two citizens are engaged in a scuffle outside the apartments, between blocks A and B. A crowd has formed around the two citizens, causing something of an uproar. What do you do?[/u] I would radio in for backup, and any special instruction from my superiors. I would wait for backup, then order the citizens to isolate. I would order any non-compliant citizens onto the nearest wall, using force if necessary. I would work with my fellow units to incapacitate the two citizens. We would take the two fighting citizens, along with any non-compliant citizens to detainment, for further interrogation and to serve their cycles. [u]You are cut off from your patrol partner. He claims that he is pursuing a citizen with a weapon over the radio. There are no other units online to assist. What do you do?[/u] I would move to assist my partner, but advise that he should be weary of possible ambushes. I would make sure we get any features of the citizen written down, and see if we can identify the citizen. If given the chance I would incapacitate the citizen with my firearm, by aiming for his legs with my firearm.If the life of myself or my fellow unit is threatened, I would take out the citizen without hesitation. I would make sure to stop pursuing the citizen if we were chasing him into a restricted zone, as the danger would be too great for me and my partner to deal with. I would not want the Anti-Citizens to obtain any more weaponry. [u]During a regular sector sweep, a citizen persists on being as loud and disruptive as possible. What do you do?[/u] I would make sure the other citizens are tied and compliant, and order the citizen to be quiet. If he persists, I request permission to detain the citizen from my superiors. If granted, I would incapacitate him, move him to detainment, and charge him with malcompliance and audio-violations.
