How long have you been role-playing?: About 1 and a half years.

How should a Civil Protection unit act?: A civil protection unit’s action vary depending on the rank, in which a high ranking unit would be more stern and serious about their location with the MPF. Overall becoming stubborn to the beliefs provided by the Union, whilst a lower ranking unit has the chance of defection due to most likely provided unsureness in certain situations.

What does a Civil Protection unit do?: Civil protection units are essentially the backbone of the Universal Union ground forces. They basically fall underneath the City Administrator referenced as a “propaganda puppet”, except units are given the job of maintaining order and are there to provide a “positive” outlook for the Universal Union with actual human forces to somewhat boost those beliefs.

Character Backstory (At least three paragraphs, be detailed!):

Born in March 3, 1979, offspring of Gillian and Rosalien Clement (Maiden name, Teurlings). Gunnar grew up in a small, Dutch town. Mostly known as Amsterdam, the Netherlands capital. Gunnar began turning out to become more like his father and those before him in the male blood-line, though he looked up towards his mother. A strong female indeed for her physique, she was alongside Gunnar during his development, creating a bond only purely of mother and son could have together. Having multiple days alongside his father, sitting on the borders of the canals daily and almost nightly. Enjoying their life entirely as a family in whole, especially with a female girl in the family soon to come around to create an addition to their life. Gunnar’s childhood was fairly simple, he would’ve grew up like the rest, though he would be the victorious one in most survival instances in the few chances they would get away from Amsterdam with his family. He was mostly a student you would see on occasion, with A’s and B’s to follow him on his journeys through school.

Multiple years later, Gunnar’s official high school graduation arrived. Though his family had grown poor attempting to afford the taxes and the newly growing female in the family, this had little to no effect on impairing his high hopes. Weeks later after his graduation, his father was shot dead from an unknown assailant whilst on his way home with barely any change in his pockets after a hard day at the docks. This had forced Gunnar to separate from his family, unfortunately leaving behind his remaining sister and mother in mourning after the death of his beloved father. Leaving a scar that would remain for the rest of his life to come, he barely had anyone to travel with. That had created a large challenge for him to travel across the country and on the path to China, a seemingly better.. Inland place compared to his recent home.

In June 25, 2001, Gunnar grew to become 22 years old, arriving in Northern  China.. Except, not normally. A horrific disaster approached years after his departure from his family, out of nowhere, whilst Gunnar was travelling with friends newly acquired on the road, leading him back to the cabin in which Gunnar would’ve stayed for months on end, believing he was at home and far from chaos left far behind.. Yet, he was wrong once again. Hidden away from many at the time besides those at New Mexico, terrible synthetic vehicles would’ve quickly entered from portals manifesting from the blue air that was there seconds before it all turned dark and horrific. They hid underneath the furniture, or rather anywhere they could. Hearing the horrifying sounds of outside, ear-piercing engines of people attempting to get out of there as fast as they could, people speaking foreign languages quickly to perhaps calm themselves, or rather the events were so fast no one would’ve been able to catch a grip of themselves. Everyone began crying in their corners in the fetal position before something unsuspecting begins kicking down their door, all the events creating a quick flash in memory. Gunnar would’ve been staring out towards the door as it would’ve been bursted open from a random force, the shouts of his friends ringing in his ears as something would’ve struck him from behind. Knocking him unconscious.. Finding himself awake.. On a train to China.

One (1) Paragraph Role-play Example (Paragraph-format. P.S. You can also choose to have an IC meeting with a COMPASS unit as your citizen instead. If you choose this please say so below):

Gunnar steps out of the train shortly after it stopping so abruptly, being guided in a line as he’d hold his suitcase tightly in hand. Reaching down into his pocket, extending two fingers in order to grab a slot of paper that would’ve been more commonly known by the officers, “A standard re-location ticket.”. Stepping forward in the line, being one of the first ten in the line to receive entry into the city. The line would shorten after a while, Gunnar walking in line and stopping in front of his assigned officer, letting out a short cough to clear his throat as he would stare momentarily, feeling a large amount of anxiety from the stretched out moment of silence as he would’ve stared at the officer lightly, occasionally shifting his gaze if he felt it would’ve offended the officer in any manner. Later placing the re-location ticket out onto the stand’s counter and shifting it over towards the officer, spinning it whilst it was on motion to allow it to face towards the officer. Later stating lightly, “New transfer.. No previous citizen to recall..”. The officer raising their head up to the citizen as if in shock before lowering their gaze once more, scoffing at the male’s words before calmly replying with, “Yeah, sure...”.

After what seemed to be hours, perhaps the hours of those found in the DMV’s that would’ve still be of use if not for the occupation of the Combine.. Or their preferred, name “Universal Union”.. Stepping up the staircase with his head raised as it exiting a bunker that would’ve perhaps been useful during the occupation. Letting out a low groan of pain in his stomach as it would’ve began to indicate his hunger, as well as the weight of his eyes beginning to grow on him. Looking towards the posters that would’ve been filled to the brim of propaganda from the UU forces, reading them in his mind as he would begin to ponder. Later coming to the conclusion it would’ve been best to accept the inevitable future that would’ve been in store for him, staring at the crowds of people who would’ve swarmed past him from the large re-location process before beginning to be lead by ground units towards their new placements of home. Reading the signs more out loud to indicate his curiosity publicly, hearing a short few mumblings of citizens that would’ve been slightly angered at him for betraying his own kin, as well as a few who would’ve also said that it was the best choice there was at this moment. Turning his eye just in time to notice a unit that would’ve been staring strictly at him before immediately shifting their gaze as they would’ve noticed him tilting his head towards them.

Moments later, Gunnar would’ve been shown his new room. He would’ve immediately popped the question towards a unit that would’ve have finished setting up the citizens in the floor above his, “Where could I enlist for this.. Metropolitan Police Force…?”. Slightly shaking as he would hear the laughing of his assigned roommate behind him, almost mocking his pitiful attempt of joining the forces of those who had been enlisted by the very ones who have enslaved humanity into boxed forts of cities themselves. Surprisingly enough the unit would’ve nodded as a response to his question, raising their hand to motion him to follow. Walking down the staircase with a pace of urgency in his footsteps before hearing the unit talk to him almost completely casually, “Not many citizens decide to enlist themselves into these forces, though, you weren’t all that quiet with your interest… why is that?” . Gunnar would almost look entirely flustered by the unit’s question, attempting to play it off as if it was always a mind set interest that didn’t arise from just rewards. He’d clear his throat once more before once more speaking out towards the unit to provide a solution to the question shown, “Mainly because, not only will it provide me with the chance to physically show loyalty and gratitude to our new successors, in my own personal eyes, it’s more of ‘community service’ to our new successors. Not mainly as such, seeing as how it’s a more role fit for those who will truly uphold the position for honestly provided abilities…”. The unit would soon nod after Gunnar would’ve clarified his reasonings, the irony being quite hidden within his words as they would continue to the department-like Nexus. The unit speaking to what-seemed to be a superior before bringing Gunnar slightly into the Nexus through the lower entrances. The unit stiffly extending their arm outwards, revealing their palm out towards Gunnar before saying sternly. “Welcome, Seven-Six-One-Nine-Four…”

(This may not be the answer that would’ve been searched for in the application, though I am only improvising for the secondary answer for this section. If there was a something different that you would’ve liked to seen, be sure to alert me of this and I’ll do my best to change it.)

---Questionnaire---

Answer the following questions as honestly as possible, to the best of your knowledge. Be detailed.

You are going about your regular patrol, one day, when a citizen suddenly comes out of the blue and starts shouting profanities at you. What do you do?

I raise my stun baton in protest against the civilian, telling them demandingly to lower their attitude or to face harsher consequences. In the event they comply and make a pitiful attempt to apologize, I will still hand out their punishment, throwing them into detainment for around three cycles. Providing re-education and a deduction of loyalist points if there are any present, or provide negative points to the citizen’s record.
In the event they decide to become a malignant, I approach them cautiously. Pre-radioing in assistance in case it is needed later on, beating them down into submission if given the chance of doing so. If needed, I will take pursuit, alerting squads of the malignants position and movement patterns for my squad members to properly conduct research on the suspect and cut them off as soon as heavenly possible.

Two citizens are engaged in a scuffle outside the apartments, between blocks A and B. A crowd has formed around the two citizens, causing something of an uproar. What do you do?

I immediately alert the rest of the protection team of the situation, being careful to back away from the area until assistance is to arrive. Moving in with our equipment at ready and at disposal, attempting to die down the crowd by threatening in large enough numbers in order to intimidate the crowd. Separating them forcefully and snatching the two citizens that would’ve been causing the large uproar, throwing them into detainment roughly after belongings have been taken, negative points has been established, and punishment of re-education has been sorted out. Leaving them in detainment for three cycles maximum, as well as an optional interrogation in order to figure out the situation and further punish the citizen responsible for creating the fight.

You are cut off from your patrol partner. He claims that he is pursuing a citizen with a weapon over the radio. There are no other units online to assist. What do you do?

I believe I will have to understand my partner’s statement, immediately calling in for discretionary directives from provided dispatch units that are possibly available, and request for information on the location in which the 647-E is going to be estimated to be in about three to four minutes. Quickly packing my things and moving in on the situation, being as cautious as I can in order to ensure safety from a possible defection of my partner. Making way of crowds of people if there is to be any and attempt to regroup up with my partner, in the event nothing goes wrong with my partner’s mental capabilities, we return to the nexus with the culprit in hand and proceed to deal punishment.

During a regular sector sweep, a citizen persists on being as loud and disruptive as possible. What do you do?

I proceed to loudly ask the citizen to calm down and attempt to serve punishment, if this is not the case and the citizen continues to be a nuisance. I classify the situation as a level three violation and I begin to become more cautious with the citizen. Moving slowly with my stun baton in reach and at my disposal as I begin to attempt to apprehend the citizen, calling in backup from available patrol teams or my specific patrol squadron and deal with the citizen. Punishing them with re-education, deduction to Loyalist points ( or addition of negative points ) and proceed to leave the suspect in detainment after serving all punishments required for the situation and proceed to allow them out of detainment after the standard sector sweep procedures.

I, Gunner Clement, hereby place my life into the Universal Union's capable hands and humbly swear to uphold Universal Union law wherever I am needed. I also submit my body for Transhumanization should the dire need ever arise.
